Elephants have inhabited East Nepal since the dawn of time. Yet, in recent times, they have been in conflict with another of nature’s inhabitants: humans. The clash has brought suffering to both sides, with casualties rising every day. Amid the turmoil, one figure stands out as a guiding force: Shankar Chettri Luitel, who has been working for the past twenty-five years to mitigate the conflict.
